I Can Do This!

Time to get back to work. I feel like I let myself take this week off from focusing, and although I wasn't eating completely as bad as I used to, I wasn't eating crazy well either.

I am DYING to be at 276 by Wednesday, so I'm going to up the workouts & watching what I eat like crazy for the next few days. Right now, I'm definitely on track to be at 276...so I just really need to make it happen!!

It's gonna be tough. School & work are slowly starting to get busier...and it's just gonna get worse as the semester goes on. But I can do this--I just know it. I've never been so determined to figure out how to balance everything in my life. I feel like this is the time to learn to juggle things because in a year, I'm not really sure where I'll be...but I could be doing things that are a lot more stressful than what I'm doing now.

I'm determined to graduate in May. There IS no other option at this point. I won't allow it. I need to continue working hard at work to show that I can do this & hope that I can get promoted within the company after graduation. And then the weight just has to happen now because I can't deal with feeling like everyone is judging me on my weight when I walk outside.

Basically, my goals at the moment aren't just about weight--but life too. But, for the first time in a long time, I'm sure of myself. I've never had a mindset like this before and it all just seems so clear to me now. I CAN set my mind to anything I want to do, it just takes some hard work. Nothing comes easy--but the rewards can be wonderful!

Weigh-In

So, I woke up this morning and tried to fake being asleep for a good 15 minutes because I knew it was weigh-in day and I was nervous.

Since I skipped last week (which means I actually weighed myself, but didn't count it as an official weigh-in), I've been stuck at 284 for the past few days (since that Wednesday or so). I weighed in today at 280!!!!

That means, based on official weigh-ins, I've lost 2 more pounds. But, based on my small stint at 284, I've lost 4 pounds!! I'm really excited about this because I really was starting to lose hope when that number wouldn't budge.

I feel absolutely wonderful. I've been eating right & it feels amazing to not have that junk in me. I forgot how good it feels to actually feel cleansed!! And I think I've actually gone the week with no fast food or any crap like that...and to be honest, I'm not even craving it :-)

This week is going to be my biggest challenge since I'm heading to Charlotte tomorrow for my Opa's (that means Grandpa for anybody wondering) 90th birthday!! I can't believe he's 90...he's still going like he's my age!! Then it's off to Myrtle Beach with the family and some close family friends for a few days...right before classes start. I'll be gone until my next weigh-in which means probably eating out more & being around food that I shouldn't put in my system.

I've already talked to my Aunt & one of my friends coming to the beach. Both said they would workout with me, so hopefully that'll motivate me to keep me going...plus, I wouldn't be surprised if my mom volunteers to go for a walk/jog with me at the beach. And then for eating...while, when we're out, I'm going to stick to what I know is good for me. Salads, vegetables, grilled chicken. Then at the beach house, I'm going to try to get the stuff that I've enjoyed eating on day 1, so I won't even need to be tempted while I'm down there!

I can't wait to get away...I'm in desperate need of a vacation. Not that I don't love my job or Raleigh, but I haven't gotten away since March!! Not even for a weekend trip! I just haven't had the time. So, it'll be nice to see people that don't see me very often...and maybe they'll see a difference?? We'll see!!

Working Out

Guys...I gotta be honest with myself. For some reason, the working out thing just isn't happening as well as it should be. I used to LOVE going to the gym and I don't know if the problem is I don't like it as much or what, but I need something to get me started.

What was the first workouts you started when you decided to lose the weight?? I know that I have no problem once at the gym, but it's motivating myself to get up and go that's a problem right now. Plus, I'm just not having fun with my workouts. Any ideas on how to change this??

PLEASE HELP!! I'm starting to lose confidence in this whole process just because of my working out troubles (yes...I have been working out everyday, but it really just isn't working properly).

xoxo

UPDATE: I think I'm going to take a week off from weighing in. I'm under some stress right now & I think knowing the number (whether it be a loss or gain) is just going to make it worse for me since I tend to obsess about it at times. So I'm going to still work hard this week (as hard as I can, that is) but skip weighing in until next Wednesday.
