Sorry for the lack of posting!! My laptop got sick and I have yet to get it fixed. I'm posting this from my iTouch and will at least try to do a few small posts from here until my computer is all better.
Hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!! No resolutions again...but I have a goal set to lose 40 more pounds by graduation in May. 10 pounds a month seems reasonable. What are ya'lls goals??

24TH BIRTHDAY!!
So...yesterday was my 24th birthday!! Yay!!
I wish I had more to post about it...but I was actually still sick :-(. However, I got to spend the day resting on the couch with True Life on my TV, something I enjoyed greatly. And I AM feeling better today. Saturday will be the real night out, so I'll def have some pictures to post then & hopefully a better update.
Some things I hope to achieve this year:
-GRADUATION
-Feel better about my body
-Spend more time with family & friends
These are the biggies that I'm excited for. So far, things are looking really good. I feel really good about my diet since discovering how much money I can save by shopping at Aldi, and graduation is getting closer by the day...SUPER exciting.
Hopefully I'll feel better by Saturday!! Look for a fun post around then!!

Mindset
I'm sure I've said this before...but tonight I realized how true it actually is.
I have never been so determined to get this weight off. I was hungry tonight around dinnertime, but didn't have a ton of food at home. My dad is always asking why I don't go to Food Lion or Harris Teeter instead of fast food. I even went and tried to figure out the points for if I got fast food, but in the end, I realized it's not worth it. I can't help myself if I keep giving in. So I went to Food Lion and got a few Smart Ones for the next few days instead. Ate one tonight & it was so delicious!
I don't want to sound conceited, but I have NEVER been so proud of myself. I realized how different my mindset is this time around. How I actually want to make the change and how it's not just going to happen on it's own.
I have so many people supporting me and backing me. I don't want to let them down, but even more, I don't want to let myself down. Even now, I feel like almost crying because of how different I can feel this time is.
And I have to thank all of you. You are the biggest and best support system I could have and reading what your comments and your posts absolutely inspires me to keep on going. So PLEASE keep on commenting!! Keep on posting!! Keep on motivating & inspiring!!

Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year, Everyone!!
I made a last minute trip to the beach, so I wasn't able to post for a few days--but I'm back now and as ready as I can be to make these 2011 goals a reality!!
I have 2 main goals in mind right now:
1) Lose 80 pounds by December (by my graduation, to be exact)
2) Become a runner
I'm sure other goals will come to mind as time goes on, but I think those are two good starters.
In other news...I joined a gym last week!! I've always had access to my campus gym & apartment gym, but I made a decision to join a gym where I pay once a month because I'm more likely to go when my money is being put towards it. I go for a tour tomorrow & to pick up all my stuff and I'm super excited. I have a lot of friends that already work out there, so I have tons of supporters and motivators behind me :-)
Anyways, I've had a long day at work...so I'm gonna hit the sack!! I'll try to catch up on everyones blogs tomorrow when I have the day off. Can't wait to hear about all your 2011 goals!!

Snowed In
So...I'm completely snowed in today. Since most people in my apartment complex went home for the holidays, there were no cars here to drive before me and turn the snow to slush. I finally made an attempt to go to Harris Teeter, but it sure did take some time.
Now I'm just relaxing in bed...watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia...and enjoying my day. I wasn't able to make it into work with it being a 20-30 minute drive for me, so I'll just have to go back tomorrow. Drive slowly & safely of course!!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday & is having a relaxing day today!! I'm excited to start the new year and will definitely be posting some of my goals for 2011 in the upcoming week.
What are some of your goals so far??

Change of Weigh-In Plans...
So, as of right now, I am planning on rejoining WW on the 1st :-) I think I can seriously commit this time because, for the first time, I want this to happen more than ever before. I'm waiting for the first of the year since they'll most likely have a deal going on, and I could use any discounts I could get at the moment.
For the next few days, I'm not going to weigh-in. I'm going to stay away from the scale because I've gotten back into the habit of weighing myself EVERY other hour...which is not good or encouraging at all. I'm not going to eat awful, but I'm going to allow myself to enjoy these last few days of 2010. I'm going to focus on fitness & learning about the WW program, so I am prepared when I register on the 1st.
I'm actually super excited about this!! I have a lot of thinspiration going for me at the moment and I'm a year away from graduation, so my goal is to be down to AT LEAST 200 by next December. That's about 80 pounds. I would LOVE for it to be more, but I'd love to look good in my graduation gown next year :-)
Okay...I have the day off from work, so I'm going to spend it just relaxing. Hope everyone is having a good week!!

October Goals
Alright guys...with October right around the corner, I've decided it's time to come up with some October goals.
First of all, Halloween. This is my goal date. I would like to be down 30 by then...so that's 15 pounds in the month of October. I think I can do it...and if not, I would at least like to be toned up a little more by then. This is my last college Halloween, so I'm going big and have a cute costume planned and don't wanna look like a balloon in it!!
Second of all, I'm cutting down the size of my iced coffees. I know this once sounds stupid, but I always get large and I don't think I need all that. Granted, I get them made so they are only like 20 calories...but I still would like to reduce these. So, I'm cutting down to mediums in the month of October.
As for working out, it's time to start working out at least 3 times a week again. So that's a HUGE October goal...to work out at least 3 times a week...most likely Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Of course, if I get a few more workouts in each week...that's great too. But AT LEAST 3!!
So those are my goals. I'm going to participate in Katie from Finding The Thin Within's Gettin Sexy Challenge. Ya'll should join too!!
Hope everyone is starting the week off right!!
xoxo
P.S. Week 3 of the Treat Free September complete...and successful once again!! And this was done with a big cupcake sitting in our house...so I'm DAMN proud of this!! Hehe

Don't Stop Believin'
In honor of Glee: The Complete First Season coming out on DVD this past week & season 2 starting on Tuesday (8 PM!! DON'T MISS IT!!), I am going to post the song they first sang that made them shine. And if just so happens to be my all-time favorite song, anyways (the Journey version, of course...but I love this one too).
So here's some Don't Stop Believin' - Glee Version (from the pilot...not the finale).
Just a quick goal for this week: I really want to get back to blogging every day. I've just been so caught up in a lot of stuff that I never seem to have time. But I will update everyday again, even if it's just a little blurb to let ya'll know what's going on.
Have a great weekend!! Mine will consist of Glee Glee and more Glee!!

Weigh-In
So, I didn't hit 276, but I still lost two pounds for a weight of 278. So, that's exciting. And although I didn't actually have an official weigh-in last week because of vacation, I know that I was at 282 after vacation, so I've lost the vacation weight but 2 extra pounds!! So can't complain about that :-)
Next week, I will DEFINITELY hit the 10 pound loss mark!! I'm determined. This is all going a lot slower than I figured. I know there's no magical pill and that this can't happen overnight, but it's been 7 weeks and I've only lost 8 pounds. Granted, this is with at least 3 gains in there, so overall, 8 pounds isn't so bad. I just wish it could be a little more.
I've started two a day workouts. Once at the gym then once at home. I really like it--makes me feel empowered and good, like I have total control over my body and weight.
I've realized that I can't skip weigh-ins anymore. It's just a way of avoiding gains, which isn't good. This is only going to work if I can be completely honest with myself!! A gain is a gain and a loss is a loss. Sure, I'd rather see the loss...but if I gain, that allows me to go back and look at where I went wrong that week. If I lie to myself about the gain, then I'll miss the opportunity to look back and rethink my actions.
So take note that next week = 276!! It's time to hit that 10 pound mark!! And hopefully, once the first 10 are gone, the rest will just start to fall in place and come off as well!!

I Can Do This!
Time to get back to work. I feel like I let myself take this week off from focusing, and although I wasn't eating completely as bad as I used to, I wasn't eating crazy well either.
I am DYING to be at 276 by Wednesday, so I'm going to up the workouts & watching what I eat like crazy for the next few days. Right now, I'm definitely on track to be at 276...so I just really need to make it happen!!
It's gonna be tough. School & work are slowly starting to get busier...and it's just gonna get worse as the semester goes on. But I can do this--I just know it. I've never been so determined to figure out how to balance everything in my life. I feel like this is the time to learn to juggle things because in a year, I'm not really sure where I'll be...but I could be doing things that are a lot more stressful than what I'm doing now.
I'm determined to graduate in May. There IS no other option at this point. I won't allow it. I need to continue working hard at work to show that I can do this & hope that I can get promoted within the company after graduation. And then the weight just has to happen now because I can't deal with feeling like everyone is judging me on my weight when I walk outside.
Basically, my goals at the moment aren't just about weight--but life too. But, for the first time in a long time, I'm sure of myself. I've never had a mindset like this before and it all just seems so clear to me now. I CAN set my mind to anything I want to do, it just takes some hard work. Nothing comes easy--but the rewards can be wonderful!

Goals for the Week
Alright...so tomorrow is gonna be day one of smoothies for lunch!! Ya'll gave me some great tips & recipes that I can't WAIT to try!!
That's probably the biggest goal for this week...sticking to a smoothie everyday for lunch.
I'm already seeing that my scale number is stuck. I've barely lost weight since starting this journey, but now I'm already finding I'm maintaining. So finding a way to get that number going down again is another big goal for the week.
Other than those two, the same general goals I have every week will stay the same--eat right, drink water, exercise. I still haven't broken the curse of not wanting to exercise, but this weekend when I see some friends and family, I'm hoping that working out with them will remind me of why I enjoy working out and how fun it can be. Plus, my normal workout buddy comes back soon as classes start, so it'll be nice to have someone to hit the gym with again.
Oh yeah...and I'm pretty sure I'm going to weigh in this week. I'm scared to...but I know that I need to. That's gonna take a few days of prepping myself for, so hopefully I can psych myself up these next few days!!
Are ya'll ready for another week?? Hope everyone sets good goals!!

Cleanse
I don't think I was very clear on what I meant by "cleanse." Although I already take green tea pills to boost my metabolism & help curb my appetite, I'm not really doing one of those pill cleanses. I'm just cutting out pretty much EVERYTHING I eat that I know is bad. I'm focusing on cutting most of my meals in half. Drinking only water (with the occasional coffee or green tea), and working out everyday (sometimes twice a day).
The cleanse for me is more to get the good food in my system so my body can get used to it and realize what it's supposed to be eating. I already eat pretty well as is, but I have my slip-ups and I want to have one week with no slip-ups. It's going to be hard, but I'm just going to keep myself distracted & busy and focus on only eating when I'm truly hungry and eating only what I should be eating.
So far, it's going well. It helps that I'm working everyday next week, so I'll definitely be able to keep busy. Workouts before work and some days, after. Tanning as well since my family's annual beach trip is coming up and I want to build up enough of a tan that I don't get burned.
Well, I'm going to do a quick workout & then get some sleep. Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Working Out--Part 2
So, first of all, I would like to thank everyone for all the great workout advice I was given...I noticed today how much more motivated I was to get to the gym!!
On top of that, I felt more motivated then ever before to eat right. Now, that wasn't a huge problem to start with since I've started this journey, but I admit that it could probably be ever better than it is now.
I'm very happy I made the decision to take a week off from weighing in. I'm hoping this means a HUGE loss next week...possible of 6-10 pounds?? We'll see...we'll see!!
So this week, I'm going on a hardcore cleanse in hopes that I will produce my biggest loss in this weight loss experience. For this week, I will be super focused on eating only the best of the best & working out more than normal. I think one week of hardcore working will set me off on the right foot. Especially since I've started feeling like I'm slowly drifting off the right path...
What do ya'll think?? Has there ever been a week in which you worked harder than normal in order to see a higher loss than usual??
xoxo

Weekly Goals
Alright...a new week is about to begin & I did really well this past week with my eating. Now for the main goal of this week:
I keep making way to many excuses to skip the gym & just do a simple workout at home. No more!! If I want to make this go a little faster, then it's time to up the ante. I know I said this last week, but I'm absolutely serious this week. I WILL go to the gym in the mornings. I WILL do my workout DVDs at night. I WILL get the exercise I need on a daily basis.
As for food, I'm going to keep up with the good eating habits. Lots of fruits & vegetables, plus some other yummy stuff, like chicken & fish. I'm also going to keep portion control in mind as well as eating at a good speed. Slow eating is the key to getting full faster, so I'm definitely going to make sure I'm not piling the food in.
And, of course, I'm going to drink lots of water!! Now, this is the one thing that has never seemed to be a big problem for me. I LOVE water & I find it is the only drink that truly refreshes me these days, so I have no real desire to drink anything else. But that doesn't mean I can't drink MORE water!!
So, in review, I am going to:

New Shoes!!
So...I went ahead and bought some new shoes at work today. I realized that every time someone was checking out, I would get nervous that they were buying MY shoes. I figured that meant that I HAD to get them!!
Guava Plush: Woven to perfection. Strips and straps meet in the middle to create a woven detail in this up to the minute style. 3" covered wedge; buckle entry and sueded cushioned foot beds finish off this lofty style. ($29.99)
Now...I tried these on weeks ago & they were CRAZY comfortable!! Like, you can't even tell you're wearing a wedge in them. I LOVE them!!
As for the rest of today, it was super hectic at the store. Just very busy, but lots of good sales!! We've started getting our boots in & I can't wait to buy some!! I love boots!! And there's nothing better than a super comfortable boot that's cute.
I'm trying to focus on eating fruits this week because I feel like I don't eat them enough. Salads as well, although I already eat those all the time. Plus, this is the start of my true workout plan. So, hopefully it goes well and we see a nice change in weight in the upcoming weeks.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!! Good luck this week!!

Scale in Hiding...
So, last night, I removed my scale from the bathroom.
Not because I'm afraid of the numbers, but because I'm afraid of weighing myself all the time. I've been told my whole life that you should weigh yourself once a week. That's it.
In my case, I become obsessive. I begin to weigh myself EVERY time I enter that bathroom. Multiple times a day. And I analyze the numbers every time. "What did I eat wrong today? Did I not workout long enough?" When in reality, I know that these things are never the case, it still drives me nuts to see even a ONE number increase mid-day.
I feel like one of the biggest parts of this journey is not becoming obsessed with the number that pops up on the scale. I think the real achievements come when I can look at myself in the mirror and smile again because I absolutely love what I see. When people I haven't seen in months, weeks, years, stop me to tell me how great I look. Those are the accomplishments I want to strive for.
So, I ask you--what do you do to make sure you don't weigh yourself every day?? And more than that, multiple times a day?? And if you do weigh yourself most days, how do you keep from becoming OBSESSED with that number?
Why?

Welcome!!
Hey!!
I have recently started working towards losing some added pounds. I would love to get back to my weight from senior year of high school, where I was healthy & still good looking. This blog is my way to track what I have eaten and the pounds I have lost. It will be used to inspire me & whoever else may read it and remind me of the hard work that I put in to reach my goal weight of 150 pounds.
So join me on my journey :-) Post any questions or comments you may have, and let's work this weight off together!!
xoxo
