Hungry

I had one of those annoying days where you just feel hungry all day. I did all the little tricks to see if I was actually hungry or bored, but I don't know. I drank water. I waited it out. But no matter what I did, my stomach still seemed to be growling for food. I gave it some healthy snacks (more snacks than I would usually eat...but it was mostly fruit, so I don't feel completely awful about it), but that didn't do the trick.

I just ate dinner and I'm finally feeling full for the first time today. But, I have a nagging feeling in the back of my head that it's not over for today. I'm about to workout (just pilates...my calves have been KILLING me lately from work, so I think some stretching out will do them good) and we'll see how I feel afterwards...but it's not looking good right now.

Any tips on how you keep yourself from being hungry all day??

xoxo

UPDATE: My calves are BURNING. This is not working!! All my workouts involve my calves being in motion!! Does anybody know any workouts that will give my calves a break??

Try including some form of protein during your mid-day meal or snacks. Eating fruit alone often leaves me feeling hungry soon after. Here are some ideas:
- a banana with 1 T of peanut butter
- a piece of low fat cheese and whole grain crackers
- a cup of low fat lentil or bean soup
- a piece of low fat turkey meat wrapped around a celery stick
These things keep me feeling fuller longer.
Good luck!

I would try the stationary bike and don't over-do it. Some of that burn is probably just the initial effect of getting moving. I know it sucks. Definitely wouldn't work out if working out makes it realllly bad, but working out through a little pain can be good for your muscles. Good luck!

Try swimming. The water helps my calves relax but still helps them stretch out a bit. I love swimming because it's such a great EASY workout... it does wonders for my joints and muscles. And I agree with Rae, if you eating complex carbs with protein that's what helps fill you up, and I still like eating about every three hours to help control the hunger and try and keep up my metabolism. Hope everything gets better! :)
