Dinner Ideas

Hey everyone!!

Back to another week and I gotta say, I've been having a LOT of trouble figuring out what to eat during or after work. Sometimes I do bring stuff, but I feel so bored with what I bring all the time. I've never been much of a cook, but I'd love to learn.

Anybody have any tips on what to cook for dinner when you've been at work all day?? Or what to bring for lunch??

I wish I had more to say today, but I'm so tired. How was everyones weekend??

xoxo

I'm in a total Protein-Salad-Rice or Sweet Potato rut right now when it comes to dinners. I feel I eat the same thing almost every day!

Feel free to pop by my blog for a yummy thai recipe (part of my 'Tasty Tuesdays' series) - it's great as leftovers. I'm going to post one of my standby recipes tomorrow, too.
Have a good one!

It all depends on what kind of diet you are trying to follow.. I am doing a low glycemic index diet, so if I had to pack a lunch, I would likely do a turkey sandwich on pumpernickel with a slice of reduced provolone and maybe a few almonds and some berries. Every diet is a little different. If you can take a salad, that's always such a refreshing summer choice. As far as dinner, the options are limitless. I always try to have a lean protein with a green veggie and then maybe something colorful like carrots or sweet potato.

I've been trying to make a list as of what I'm going to cook for dinner and lunch that way I know what I need to get at the grocery store... hope this helps some! :)

If you don't already have one... invest in a crockpot. You throw a bunch of ingredients in it and by the time you get home from work, you have a delicious meal waiting for you. There are so many recipes you can choose from online.

After a long day at work when I get home I just toast some WW MultiGrain bread, pop a MorningStar Farms Original Griller in the micro or on the grill, and bust out the salsa. I put 2tbsp of salsa on the bread, then put the griller on, add two more tbsp of salsa, and slap the second piece of bread on it. It total's out at 250 calories and then I grab a 100 calorie pack snack of my choice or have some raw veggies.

I use my crock pot by putting chicken breasts in it and add a little bbq sauce. Or I grill a chicken breast and have it on top of fresh spinach. Sometimes I eat turkey (smoked lunchmeat) and have some string cheese and an apple dipped in peanut butter. I do low carbs and try to stay away from sugar and bread. I eat a lot of fresh stuff, veggies and a few fruits.
